NOREEN MACDONALD, A.E.A, RAD, Executive Director/Dance Workshop Group LLC, began her early dance training with Marylou Cunningham and Dance Workshop of Hanover, Sydney Leonard at the Boston Ballet School, Boston Ballet Summer Program and Jeanette Neill. Noreen began performing professionally at age 15. Having worked and resided in New York City for 20 years, her dance study includes Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center with such artists as David Howard, Luigi, Chet Walker, Violette Verdy, Edward Villella, Ann Reinking and Randy Skinner. Having studied theatre at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, she is member of Actors Equity Association. Her performing and choreography credits include international and national tours, Off-Broadway, regional theatre, Jean Ann Ryan productions and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Her film and televsion work includes HBO, ABC, CBS and Comedy Central. Working with Broadway producers and top jewelry houses, Noreen has represented celebrities at The Tony Awards, The Oscars, Emmy Awards and Grammy Awards. She has been teaching dance for 25 years and sits on various adjudication panels for national talent and dance competitions throughout the US. She recently completed Royal Academy of Dance, London coursework at the national US conference. Noreen is thrilled to be sharing her love of dance and performing at Dance Workshop of Hanover!

MARYLOU CUNNINGHAM, RAD, RTS, FOUNDER /Instructor-DANCE WORKSHOP OF HANOVER was established in 1974 by MARYLOU CUNNINGHAM, RAD, RTS. Ms. Cunningham, a former professional dancer, is director and an instructor of her school. Her love of dance began with Helen O'Brien and continued with such known artists as famed Ziegfield ballerina Harriet Hoctor, Stanley Brown, Renzo Reiss of the Bremen Opera Ballet, Sydney Leonard and E. Virginia Williams, founder and late director of The Boston Ballet. Ms. Cunningham has continued her studies with the American Academy of Ballet and the Royal Academy of Dance where she maintains a RAD Teaching Certificate and is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, London, England. Ms. Cunningham and Dance Workshop of Hanover is one of only two schools in Massachusetts to have this distinction. Many of her students have gone on to study and/or perform with the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, American Academy of Ballet, Royal Academy of Dance, PA Youth Ballet, and Interlochen Arts Academy summer intensive programs, the Alvin Ailey School, School of American Ballet, School of the Arts, Ballet Theatre of Boston, Tulsa Ballet, LaScala Ballet International, Seacoast Ballet, Ballet Spartanburg, the Limón Dance Company, Bucks County Theatres, on Broadway, National and International Touring Companies, Modern Dance Companies, and working as independent guest teachers, master teachers, and choreographers.
MICHELE DAVISreceived her BA in Theatre and Dance from the University of New Hampshire. While at UNH Michele performed with the UNH Dance Company and the Seacoast Ballet, under the direction of Larry Robertson. As a young Dance Workshop of Hanover student and CDE dancer, she began her training in ballet, tap and jazz methods, later continuing with the Boston Ballet School and Ballet Theatre of Boston. Michele's professional performing career includes roles in such ballets as The Nutcracker and Alice in Wonderland, as well as many originally choreographed works with José Mateo's Ballet Theatre. Also EEC certified, Michele has been teaching dance to students of all ages over the past 18 years.
DENISE MENENDEZis a graduate of Allentown College where she earned her BA in Dance. Her concentration has focused on the teaching methods for young children; creative movement, pre-ballet, jazz and tap through the elementary level programs. While at Allentown, she performed and choreographed for the College Touring Company and with the Act I Dance Ensemble. An experienced teacher and many years on staff with DWH, Denise has completed the teaching course of the Royal Academy of Dance and continues her training with ongoing studies in the Syllabus, particularly as it relates to the teaching methods of younger students.
NICK PABSTattended the Baltimore School For The Arts and received his Degree in Dance from Goucher College. His training has also included modern dance, as well as programs with Boston Ballet, The Rock School, and Ballet Divertimento. Through his professional career Nick performed with Ballet Austin, the Sacramento Ballet, as a guest artist, and had the opportunity to dance in China. He performed as a soloist in works by such choreographers as Ron Cunningham, Stephen Mills, Septime Webre, George Balanchine, and Twyla Tharp. With teaching credentials in Maryland and California, Nick now shares his knowledge here at DWH.
DEIRDRE LEWIS (CDE Manager/Instructor) began her training under the direction ofMarylou Cunningham as a student at Dance Workshop of Hanover. She earned her BA in Theatre and Dance from Keene State College. While at Keene State she performed extensively with the Dance Department and was a member of the Keene State College Dance Team. During her time at KSC, Deirdre was selected as a choreographer and performer to represent the school at the American College Dance Festival and at the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges Conference. She had the opportunity to study under artists such as Monica Bill Barnes, Frances Nii. Yarti, Candice Salyers, Cathy Nicoli, Jodi Leigh Allen, William Seigh, and Marcia Murdock. In 2012, she was honored to receive the Alta Lu Townes Memorial Dance Award for excellence in dance. For the past several years, Deirdre has attended the American Dance Festival as a scholarship recipient. While at ADF, Deirdre was able to work with teachers and choreographers including Mark Dendy, Ming Lung Yang, Brenda Daniels, Leah Cox, Pamela Pietro, Rodger Belman, and Trebien Pollard. Deirdre joined Impact Dance Company in August 2012.
